Secrets for a box cake that tastes like a bakery cake
Who has time to make scratch cakes all the time? I certainly don't running a nonprofit organization, being a wife, mom, grandma and now add to the list studying for my Christian counselor certification. I need things that are delicious that I can make without spending all day in the kitchen. I am finally divulging my secrets for making a cake from a box mix that no one will ever know isn't from scratch. These substitutions will make you the best cake or cupcakes you have ever had.

1. Substitute water for buttermilk
2. Add an extra egg
3. Add an additional 1/4 cup of oil
4. Add a box of pudding mix (chocolate cake mix/chocolate pudding, vanilla cake mix/vanilla pudding) etc.
I use all four of these substitutions when I make a box cake. The batter will be very thick. And PLEASE make sure not to over bake your cakes. I think the number one mistake people make is over baking your cakes. Remember, your cake will continue to rise in temperature and bake even after you have removed it from the oven.
Seriously....if you have any doubts you just need to try these tips. This will make the moistest, best-tasting cake or cupcakes you have ever had. Try it out and let me know what you think!
